We store all of the domains from the .com .net .org .us .info and .biz registries that are due to drop, and one or two days before they drop we check each domain to see if it has listings in Google.
For all domains that have more than 10 pages listed in Google we check to see how many links there are, we check the PR, the number of pages in Yahoo, links in Yahoo, pages in MSN,
Wayback pages, alexa ranking.... So, you can select names to backorder or to watch and perhaps register if they become available.
Almost all of the interesting domains are caught the second they drop by one of the major services such has pool.com, the chance of Drop Doctor catching a domain as they drop is extremely small, for this you would need to use one of the Dropcatcher services such as pool.com. However many of the domains will be tasted and will dropped again within a few days, they may then be tasted again and drop again a few days later. Because the tasters have no fixed schedule for dropping domains Drop Doctor does have a chance of catching a domain before another taster catches it.
